At the 2025 Bay Area Semiconductor Industry Ecological Expo (Wanxin Exhibition) held in Shenzhen recently, China's independently developed new generation ultra high speed real-time oscilloscope was officially released, with a bandwidth exceeding 90GHz and reaching the international advanced level. This marks the global electronic communication industry welcoming the "Chinese standard" of ultra high speed signals.
Oscilloscope is a key equipment in the upstream of technology and industry, widely used in product scientific research, development testing, and production manufacturing. It transforms electrical signals that cannot be seen by the naked eye into visible images, serving as the "eyes" and "ruler" of engineers and scientists.
It is reported that the bandwidth of high-end overseas oscilloscopes exceeds 60GHz, while many domestic oscilloscopes have a bandwidth below 20GHz. Domestic high-end oscilloscopes are facing a bottleneck in breaking through.
From a bandwidth of 20GHz to 90GHz, there is a long-term research and development effort and deep integration of industry, academia, and research.
Liu Sang, CEO of Wanliyan Company, stated that this requires continuous integrated innovation, cross disciplinary integration and system optimization in basic materials, precision manufacturing, core chips, algorithms, and other aspects, rather than simply piecing together results.
For example, it is very difficult to collect signals at ultra-high bandwidth, just like "using a spoon to catch a waterfall", where even a slight instability makes it difficult to "filter out" key data. Countless algorithm optimizations have improved the efficiency of "marking", ultimately achieving a comprehensive upgrade in signal acquisition and processing performance, testing efficiency, and spanning multiple generations of products.
At present, the oscilloscope has been applied and tested in multiple enterprises and research institutions such as Huawei and Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
In August this year, the core technology and application of ultra high speed real-time oscilloscope, which are mainly completed by Wanli Eye Corporation, Institute of Microelectronics of Chinese Academy of Sciences and others, won the first prize of 2025 technological invention awarded by the Chinese Instrument and Instrument Society.
Cui Xiaohai, a researcher at the China Institute of Metrology, stated that the innovative breakthrough of ultra high speed real-time oscilloscopes is conducive to further promoting "Chinese standards" and has broad prospects in fields such as semiconductors, 6G communication, optical communication, and intelligent driving.
At the 2025 Wanxin Exhibition, a major industry event, new products received widespread attention from the industry. The exhibition area of this year's exhibition exceeds 60000 square meters, gathering more than 600 participating companies and introducing multiple high-end forums such as the International Lithography Conference and the Chip Academic Conference, providing innovative enterprises with a display platform that is in line with international standards.
