DHL Global Forwarding, a subsidiary of DHL Group, recently announced the official launch of a new direct route from Shanghai to Buenos Aires, Argentina operated by Chinese airlines, providing a fast track for Chinese export companies to reach the South American market. Thanks to this new route, the transportation time for goods from Shanghai to Buenos Aires will be significantly reduced from the traditional 7 days to less than 30 hours.

This new route is the only direct route between China and Arab countries that does not require a change of aircraft, filling the gap in Shanghai's direct service to South America. DHL Global Freight has locked in the weekly capacity of this route, especially serving customers in industries such as technology and consumer goods that have strict time requirements.

Compared to the traditional "northbound channel" for transportation through Europe or North America, the "southbound channel" adopted by the new route has the advantages of shorter range and less flight time. This route operates two round-trip flights per week, with a stopover at Auckland Airport in New Zealand for technical supplies, but there is no need to change planes throughout the journey, and the flight number remains unchanged. The transportation time for goods has been shortened from 7 days to less than 30 hours. In addition to direct air freight services, DHL Global Freight also offers diversified transportation solutions such as DHL SeaAir multimodal service, combining the cost-effectiveness of sea freight and the speed advantage of air freight to meet the customized needs of different customers.

DHL Group's "2030 Strategy - Accelerating Sustainable Growth" clearly states that DHL Group will focus on emerging markets and industries with growth rates significantly higher than global GDP, including life sciences and healthcare, new energy, and seizing geographic tailwinds.

In recent years, the economic, trade and cultural exchanges between China and South American countries, including Argentina, that jointly build the "the Belt and Road" have become increasingly close. Official data shows that in the first 11 months of 2025, China's export growth rate to Latin America reached 5.6%, and the South American market has become one of the most promising destinations for Chinese products to go global. In the South American market, Chinese made electronic products, new energy vehicles and components, as well as consumer goods, have shown tremendous growth potential. For these industries, a fast and reliable supply chain is the key to winning market competition.

The South American market has a strong demand for high-end manufacturing and technology products from China. DHL Global Freight, through this new route, not only provides a faster and more reliable logistics lifeline for Chinese companies, but also offers a competitive advantage, "said the CEO of DHL Global Freight Greater China. The company will continue to leverage DHL Group's global network and professional capabilities to assist Chinese enterprises in achieving efficient and sustainable business growth in South America and globally
