The 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference is jointly hosted by the World Green Design Organization (WGDO) and Sina Group, co organized by the Beijing Office of the International Financial Reporting Standards Foundation (IFRS Foundation), hosted by Sina Finance and the Beijing Representative Office of the World Green Design Organization, and supported by the People's Government of Huangpu District, Shanghai.
Marcos Neto, Assistant Secretary General and Director of Policy and Programme Support at the United Nations Development Programme, attended the 2025 Sustainable Global Leaders Conference and delivered a video speech at the forum on "How to Integrate Sustainable Concepts into Higher Education and Future Talent Development Systems".
Marcos Neto stated that global environmental, social, and governance ESG related assets are expected to reach $40 trillion by 2030. However, we have regressed on the path to achieving sustainable development goals, and despite extensive commitments and ESG labels, development outcomes are still far from being achieved. The scale that matches the level of wealth created.
We have collaborated with over 100 countries to align tax systems with sustainable development goals, generating over $2 billion in additional fiscal revenue since 2015. We have also promoted the issuance of $30 billion in themed bonds and strengthened fiscal planning through the national comprehensive financing framework.
